6-month Co-op placement
The Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science [BEng(CompSc)] and Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science [BEng(AI&DataSc)] share the same programme code. Students will spend 2.5 years studying at the HKU campus, followed by the final 1.5 years at the HKU-CDS Teaching and Research Site in Shanghai. This includes a six-month Co-op placement designed to immerse them in Shanghai’s dynamic AI ecosystem.
The Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science is a professional program designed to prepare students for the forefront of technological innovation. It offers a comprehensive foundation in computer science and its applications, covering essential topics such as programming, algorithms, data structures, software engineering, computing infrastructures, and artificial intelligence.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science covers a comprehensive curriculum that includes fundamental concepts such as mathematics, programming languages, algorithms, and data structures, as well as advanced topics such as computer organization, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. Students can specialize in areas such as AI and robotics, big data analytics, cybersecurity, financial computing, systems and networking, and theoretical computer science, and benefit from opportunities for hands-on learning and project-based work.
