Professor Dong XU establishes the JC STEM lab of Multimedia and Machine Learning with HKD$10M funding support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Trust aims to support the development of STEM talents for Hong Kong and strengthen capacity in applied research and knowledge transfer. Professor XU and his team will establish a powerful large-scale computing system to meet the rapidly increasing demand for both training speed and GPU memory in cutting-edge AI research. To express gratitude and appreciation for the Trust’s generous support, the University held an inauguration ceremony on April 10th. More details can be viewed at HKU press release.
