The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is pleased to share HKU’s outstanding performance in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject, with several CDS-related disciplines achieving leading positions in Hong Kong and strong global rankings.
The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is pleased to share HKU’s outstanding performance in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject, with several CDS-related disciplines achieving leading positions in Hong Kong and strong global rankings.
In the latest rankings, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, as well as Computer Science and Information Systems ranked No. 1 in Hong Kong, placing 18th and 27th worldwide, respectively. Statistics and Operational Research ranked 32nd globally.
These results reaffirm CDS’s role in advancing HKU’s strengths through interdisciplinary education and research, bringing together computing, data science, artificial intelligence and statistics to drive innovation and address real-world challenges.
The 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluate universities based on various indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, H-index, and international research networks.
