The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) at The University of Hong Kong hosted its Scholarships Award Ceremony on 8 October 2025, honouring the exceptional academic achievements and dedication of its students.

The ceremony brought together professors, donor, students, and guests to celebrate excellence and encourage continued innovation and impact in computing and data science.

In his opening remarks, Professor Yi Ma, Director of CDS, congratulated the awardees for their hard work and talent, highlighting that their achievements reflect the School’s commitment to nurturing data-driven problem solvers for the digital age.

Ms. Mary Ma, Assistant Vice President of Tongcheng Travel Holdings Limited, delivered an encouraging speech, urging students to embrace curiosity and lifelong learning. Tongcheng Travel has generously supported the School through the establishment of the Tongcheng Travel Scholarship, which recognises students with outstanding academic performance.

During the ceremony, scholarships including the CDS Entrance Scholarship and the Tongcheng Travel Scholarship were presented by Prof. Ma, Ms. Ma, Prof. Au-Yeung (Associate Dean of Science, Student Affairs), and Prof. Chui (Assistant Dean of Engineering, Teaching and Learning).

The event concluded with a group photo session, followed by networking and light refreshments, where awardees had the opportunity to engage with donors and professors.

The School expresses its heartfelt appreciation to all donor, school, and staff members who made the ceremony a success, and extends congratulations to all awardees for their well-deserved recognition.
