We are delighted to announce that Yau Yi Yeung, a Year 4 FinTech student at the School of Computing & Data Science (CDS), has been crowned champion in this year’s Grand Final of the InnoFamily Award!
Teamwork and Social Impact
The competition, part of the Jockey Club SMART Family‑Link Project, brought together over 200 students from 14 local tertiary institutions to design tech-driven solutions with the aim of enhancing family well-being. Yau Yi Yeung teamed up with peers from the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Shue Yan University to form “GingFM”, who impressed the judging panel with their visionary SEN Parenting Eco System. Their proposal offers vital support to caregivers of children with special educational needs, demonstrating the power of interdisciplinary collaboration and social innovation.
Adding to this proud moment, our Division Head of Computer Science at CDS, Professor Reynold C.K. CHENG, contributed his expertise as a member of the judging panel, helping to uphold the competition’s high standards.
We congratulate Yau Yi Yeung and her team on this remarkable achievement. This success also underscores CDS’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering impactful, real-world solutions in FinTech and beyond.
